​Dawn holds a Master of Library and Information Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Master of Liberal Studies in literary nonfiction from the University of Minnesota. She has worked as a communications writer, editor, and program manager and presents workshops and talks on library advocacy stories, storytelling, sustainability, place-based librarianship, intergenerational programming, and book arts. Dawn serves as Youth Services Coordinator for La Crosse County Library, where she manages youth spaces and staff for the Library’s five locations. She earned her Certificate of Book Arts from the Minnesota Center for Book Arts, received a 2022 and 2025 emerging artist grant from Southeastern Minnesota Arts Council, and participated in the 2022 Creative Community Leadership Institute cohort.
